[burnt tape archives] is a new 14 track collection from Asa Tone founding member and co-label head Kaazi, moving sharply into emergent territories.

Enclosed within: crushed hardware dubs, oblique synthesis, devotional voice fragments, warping sub freqs - a collection wholly in synch with the entanglements of the current period; anti-corruption uprisings and redlining equatorial heat of recent years in Indonesia, personal reflections on recent visits back to family land in an abandoned town in Samos bordering western Anatolia, contemporary tech feudalism, et al.

Following a diverse year of releases- an album of film and soundtrack music for Leaving Records in March, an EP for Public Possession in May, and more recently Asa Tone’s fourth album ‘Mutualkind’ released on Music From Memory this month, this new tape switches gears - compiling raw, unrealized bounces from Kaazi’s former HD, before it overheated and the working files dematerialized forever. It was meant to be this way?

[burnt tape archives] is a brief glimpse into a period of kinetic work from Kaazi, who seems at this point to be consistently experimenting in new aural and interpersonal fields.
